HGV Technician

Summary: The role of Commercial Vehicle Technician involves maintaining and repairing Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) in the Leeds workshop. The technician will be responsible for accurate fault diagnosis, efficient use of specialist tools, and ensuring all work adheres to safety procedures. This position offers sociable hours from Monday to Friday, totaling 37 hours per week. Candidates are required to have relevant qualifications and a minimum of two years of experience in a commercial repairs environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurate fault diagnosis of vehicle and specialist equipment defects.
• Correct use and care of specialist tools for repair and maintenance.
• Efficiently carry out all work in accordance with specified repair policy.
• Report defects observed during repair processes, including preventive work recommendations.
• Complete all job-related documentation for management and charging purposes, including data input into computer systems.
• Carry out all work safely, observing relevant safety procedures, including on-site work when directed.

Key Skills:

• NVQ or City and Guilds in Vehicle Repair and Maintenance or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a commercial repairs/servicing environment.
