HGV mechanic / engineer

Summary: The role of HGV fitter/mechanic involves performing maintenance and repairs on vans, HGVs, and minibuses at a workshop in Richmond. This long-term contract position offers an immediate start and requires familiarity with DVSA standards for safety inspections and MOT preparations. Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance and repairs on vans/HGVs and minibuses
• Carrying out routine Safety Inspections on HGVs in line with DVSA standards
• Preparing HGVs for annual MOT
• Completing detailed maintenance inspection reports in line with DVSA regulations
• Using engine diagnostic equipment
• Working hours: 07:30-16:30 Mon - Fri (40 hours per week) with a 1-hour lunch break
• Maintaining a clean driving license with Category C (HGV entitlement)

Key Skills:

• Experience as an HGV fitter/mechanic
• Familiarity with DVSA standards
• Knowledge of petrol and diesel engines
• Ability to complete maintenance inspection reports
• Use of engine diagnostic equipment
• Class 4 and 7 MOT qualification (advantageous)
