This post is a Secondment for 9 months to cover Maternity Leave. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly and expanding team on AMU Assessment. AMU Assessment is within the Emergency Quadrant and is an area of continuous development. We are a 23-bedded acute assessment unit and an Ambulatory Emergency Care (AEC) unit. Specialising in acute medicine and emergency admissions from both ED and GPs. AMU Assessment is looking for highly motivated individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and wish to contribute to our vision of providing compassionate care. We are seeking to recruit healthcare assistants who can make a difference with their dedication and expertise whilst upholding the trusts values and behaviours. We are a friendly department with a positive ethos.

Main duties of the job

Applicants must have an approachable manner necessary to deal with patients and their relatives and desirable experience of a hospital environment. Applicants will work as part of a team of nurses on the ward and undertake patient fundamentals of nursing care tasks under the direct or indirect supervision of a Registered General Nurse responsible for the patient’s management. The successful candidates will work within the Emergency Quadrant which consists of ED, AMU Short Stay and AMU Assessment. This role can be challenging at times, however you will be working as part of a well established team. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
