Summary: The Health & Safety Advisor role involves supporting multiple live construction sites across London for a well-established Main Contractor. The position requires conducting site inspections, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and promoting a proactive safety culture. The advisor will also provide training and guidance to site management teams while liaising with external bodies. This contract position offers exposure to high-profile projects within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety reviews across multiple projects
  • Monitor compliance with current HSE legislation, company procedures and client requirements
  • Produce inspection reports and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively
  • Support site management teams with risk assessments, RAMS reviews and safe systems of work
  • Deliver toolbox talks, site briefings and health & safety training where required
  • Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, producing detailed reports and recommendations
  • Assist in developing and improving company HSEQ policies and procedures
  • Promote a proactive safety culture across all levels of the business
  • Liaise with external bodies including the HSE, local authorities and client representatives
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to health & safety compliance
  • Provide practical advice and guidance to operational teams on all HSEQ matters

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience working as a Health & Safety Advisor within the construction industry
  • Experience working for a Main Contractor on commercial, residential, student accommodation or healthcare projects
  • Strong understanding of UK HSE legislation and construction compliance requirements
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Relevant CSCS Card
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build relationships with site teams and subcontractors
  • Strong report writing and organisational skills
  • Membership of IOSH or working towards chartered status
  • Experience across multi-site operations
  • Temporary Works or Fire Safety knowledge
  • First Aid qualification

Due to continued project growth, they are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join the business on a contract basis, supporting multiple live construction sites across London.
