Summary: The Health & Safety Advisor will join a project team in Portsmouth, focusing on a major civil engineering project valued over £300m. The role involves on-site support to ensure health and safety risks are identified and managed effectively. The advisor will engage with teams, monitor safety controls, conduct investigations, and provide expert advice. Immediate availability is required for this position, which can be offered on a day rate or salary basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with teams to communicate health and safety requirements and gain feedback on improvements/concerns.
- Monitor the adequacy of health and safety controls, including competency checks, document reviews, audits, and site inspections.
- Conduct and review assurance and incident investigations to identify root causes and prevent reoccurrence.
- Provide written competent expert specialist advice and reports on HSW matters from management to employees.
- Assist the Group HESQ Manager in maintaining & developing the company’s Integrated Management System.
Key Skills:
- NEBOSH Construction minimum & working towards Diploma or NVQ Level 6 equivalent (desirable).
- CertIOSH minimum working towards CMIOSH (Essential).
- CSCS card – Manager or Academically Qualified (Essential).
- SEATS – Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme (Desirable).
