Summary: The Health and Safety Manager role involves overseeing health, safety, and environmental practices at a European electrical subcontractor's site in Immingham for a duration of six months. The position requires strong leadership in implementing safety protocols and conducting risk assessments while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The role is compensated at a daily rate between £350 and £400. This position is classified as outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of the project-specific Health, Safety & Environmental Plan.
- Provide HSE leadership to all site-based teams, including subcontractors and trades.
- Conduct and coordinate risk assessments, method statement reviews (RAMS), and ensure safe systems of work are in place.
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and behavioural safety observations.
- Manage and report on site safety performance metrics and incidents, including root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
- Liaise with the Principal Contractor, client, and other subcontractors to ensure alignment on safety expectations and site protocols.
- Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training sessions where required.
- Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 regulations, including the preparation and maintenance of relevant documentation.
- Investigate near misses and incidents, compile reports, and ensure learnings are communicated and applied.
- Support pre-task planning and daily coordination meetings to integrate HSE considerations.
- Promote a culture of proactive hazard identification and continuous improvement.
