Summary: The HSSE Manager role at Port of Nigg, Scotland, is focused on overseeing all health, safety, and environmental activities for a project. The position requires collaboration with project management and client representatives to ensure compliance and promote a culture of safety. The manager will also be responsible for incident investigations, training, and reporting on HSSE performance. This is an on-site position aimed at driving HSSE excellence throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the HSE focal point for all project health, safety, and environmental activities.
- Work with Project Manager/Construction Managers to ensure HSSE attendance at key project meetings.
- Liaise with client HSE Representatives to satisfy HSE requirements.
- Support incident investigations and maintain records of incidents and accidents.
- Support the site PTW system and access control system.
- Keep records of inspection findings and produce improvement reports.
- Manage Corrective & Preventative Actions to effective closure.
- Drive HSSE excellence to provide a safe and compliant workplace.
- Conduct worksite inspections and provide feedback.
- Attend daily shift briefings and monitor their effectiveness.
- Support the online induction process and conduct on-site inductions as needed.
- Assist in internal HSE training and incident investigations.
- Advise on risk assessments and review Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Encourage workforce involvement in safety culture and initiatives.
- Promote Europlan and SEI HSSE culture throughout the project.
- Support proactive reporting and analysis processes.
- Monitor and report on project performance against KPIs.
- Report all incidents and near misses.
Key Skills:
- Recognized H&S qualification (NEBOSH/BSC/RoSPA/SVQ) – minimum NEBOSH Certificate / S/NVQ level 3.
- Formal training in Environmental Management preferred.
- Industry experience with trade background preferred.
- Experience in developing and implementing HSE management systems.
- Full conversant in developing risk assessments (General/COSHH/Fire/Unplanned Events).
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Experience in presenting and developing training/inductions.
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office systems.
- Ability to produce and present reports and statistical HSE information.

Responsibilities.

- Keep records of inspections findings and producing reports that suggest improvements.
- Managing Corrective & Preventative Actions to effective closure and monitoring thereafter.

- Understand and promote Europlan and SEI HSSE culture throughout all phases of the modification scope, setting a positive personal example.
- Promoting the culture of personal accountability, where safe behaviors are reinforced and unsafe challenged.
- Assist in the development of an environment where personnel are empowered to stop any work that they perceive to be unsafe.
PLANNING AND REPORTING
