Summary: The Health & Safety Advisor at CVS Group is responsible for promoting a positive health and safety culture within the organization, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, and managing occupational risks. This role involves significant travel across the Midlands and requires a driving license. The position is a 12-month fixed-term contract aimed at making a meaningful impact on the team and the communities served. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to health & safety legislation by reviewing and updating policies and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement measures to minimize accidents and risks.
- Perform health & safety audits and investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Review fire risk assessments and promote fire safety awareness among site teams.
- Develop and deliver training on health & safety best practices to managers and employees.
- Maintain records of incidents and produce reports to identify trends and improve safety.
- Chair health & safety committees and ensure effective communication and documentation.
- Stay updated with health & safety legislation, advising senior management on changes.
- Provide expert advice on health & safety queries to all staff levels.
- Collaborate with third-party assessors and authorities to take necessary action on findings.
Key Skills:
- A qualification in occupational health and safety, ideally level 6.
- Experience as a Health & Safety Advisor in a similar environment.
- Strong understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
- IT literate with proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational and motivational skills.
- Ability to produce reports and develop policies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
