Health and Safety Advisor

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support our client on an interim basis for a period of up to 4 months.

Based in the Brighton area, this role will play a key part in ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, conducting audits and risk assessments, and supporting managers in maintaining a safe working environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety professional looking for a short-term contract with an established organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out workplace inspections and health & safety audits.
• Conduct and review risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with current UK Health & Safety legislation.
• Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Support managers with policy implementation and best practice.
• Maintain accurate records and compliance documentation.
• Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the business.

Essential Requirements

• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
• Previous experience in a Health & Safety Advisor, Officer, or Coordinator role.
• Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and hit the ground running.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

• IOSH Membership (TechIOSH or above).
• Experience within construction, engineering, manufacturing, or facilities environments.
• Internal auditing experience.
