We are currently seeking an experienced Interim Head of Technical Finance to join a local authority in the North West region on an initial 6-month contract.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for providing technical financial expertise, leading a finance team, and supporting the delivery of key financial priorities across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and technical financial leadership.
- Lead budget planning, forecasting and financial reporting.
- Support statutory accounts and year-end processes.
- Ensure compliance with local government finance regulations and accounting standards.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to drive sound financial decision-making.
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
About You:
- CIPFA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
- Extensive local government finance experience.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Proven track record in leading finance teams and delivering financial improvement.
- Able to quickly add value in an interim capacity.
