Summary: The Head of Rotating Equipment is responsible for overseeing the machinery engineering discipline and managing FEED/EPC contractors to ensure the design of rotating equipment meets project specifications, budget, and schedule. This role involves providing technical guidance, resolving issues, and monitoring progress to achieve project objectives. The position is based in Doha or site offices and requires strong leadership and commitment to safety and compliance. The candidate must have extensive experience in engineering roles, particularly in the Oil & Gas sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee machinery engineering discipline and FEED/EPC contractor in delivering all aspects of rotating equipment/machinery design within approved scope, budget, and schedule.
- Ensure technical requirements (specifications, data sheets, procedures) developed during FEED and EPC comply with project requirements.
- Provide guidance to contractors and resolve technical issues to meet project objectives and milestones.
- Monitor discipline schedule and work progress.
- Demonstrate strong safety leadership and behaviors.
- Ensure machinery engineering activities comply with regulatory requirements, codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Resolve machinery-related issues promptly.
- Ensure approved design recommendations improve integrity and safety.
- Steward contractor design and execution activities, verify resources and competency.
- Provide input to other disciplines and support commissioning and system completion.
- Track and report lessons learned.
- Monitor contractor progress.
