Summary: The Head of Procurement for Wiltshire Council is a senior leadership role requiring extensive experience in finance and procurement, particularly within local authorities. Key Responsibilities:
- Work jointly with the chief executive and corporate directors to achieve the council’s priorities and goals.
- Develop effective partnerships and collaborative working to achieve the council’s vision.
- Manage service performance through accountability of the senior management team and resource allocation.
- Develop an innovative and commercial approach across the council and specific service areas.
- Lead continuous improvement and transformation of services using evidence-based principles.
- Take joint responsibility for delivering the whole council budget and savings.
- Coach senior managers to enhance their leadership capabilities.
