You will be seen as a subject matter expert for the business and your team will benefit from the experience and knowledge you can share.Your role with include Do you have the following skills, experience and drive to succeed in this role Find out below.Shaping the operating framework for the Group s procurement activitiesLeading on strategically important projects for our property investment and customer services teamsManaging and developing a small procurement team of four colleaguesProviding specialist support and advice on procurement issues across the businessDeveloping, implementing and monitoring procurement policies and procedures, ensuring they comply with relevant legislation and support achieving value for moneyOverseeing procurement systems and technology, ensuring their development, implementation and engagement is robust and fit for purposeEmbedding an inclusive and progressive approach to value for money, incorporating ESG and social value.About YouYou will be an experienced procurement leader, understanding how the importance of driving change and improvements within a procurement function enables growth.You may not have experience in the housing sector, although this would be beneficial. The role will suit someone with a broad background across construction and general indirect categories.You ll have a demonstrable track record in acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders. You ll understand market trends, procurement strategy options, best practice tendering, contract award, implement and management. Communication will be a strength and you ll provide assurance to senior leaders through best practice.You ll be confident with your natural coaching style, and this will enable the development of the team. You will demonstrate strong leadership skills and will be a strong ambassador for the team with all stakeholders.You will be educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification in procurement, such as MCIPS, or a related field.You can base yourself from home. It is likely that there will be a need to attend face to face meetings on a monthly basis, so being able to travel to our operating region is a must.
