Summary: The Head of Organisational Development, Leadership and Wellbeing will lead the Trust's initiatives in culture, leadership development, and staff wellbeing. Reporting to the Director of People, the role involves delivering impactful programmes and collaborating with senior leaders to enhance staff experience and organisational culture. The position requires a consultancy-based approach to diagnose challenges and implement tailored interventions. The post holder will also oversee staff feedback mechanisms to ensure that employee insights inform organisational priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Trust’s OD and culture programme, providing expert consultancy to teams and senior leaders.
- Develop and deliver leadership and management development pathways, coaching, mentoring and action-learning offers.
- Lead the Trust’s approach to wellbeing and people experience, shaping a proactive and inclusive wellbeing strategy.
- Oversee the NHS Staff Survey, Pulse Surveys and staff feedback insight, ensuring robust action planning and assurance.
- Design and deliver team-level OD interventions that support effectiveness, relationships and performance.
- Coordinate delivery of the Trust’s People Plan across OD, leadership, wellbeing and culture priorities.
- Provide leadership and line management to roles within the OD and wellbeing portfolio.

We are seeking an experienced and values-led Head of Organisational Development, Leadership and Wellbeing to lead our Trust-wide approach to culture, leadership development, organisational development and staff wellbeing.
Reporting to the Director of People, Organisational Development & Inclusion , you will provide expert OD leadership, deliver high-impact cultural and leadership programmes, and ensure our People Plan priorities are translated into meaningful and measurable outcomes. You will work closely with senior leaders, clinical and corporate teams, and system partners to improve staff experience, organisational culture and leadership capability across the Trust.
The post holder will operate using a consultancy-based organisational development model, working in close partnership with Executive Directors, senior leaders, managers, staff and People services colleagues to diagnose organisational and cultural challenges, co-design tailored interventions and support sustainable change. This includes leading Trust-wide culture programmes, designing and delivering team-level interventions, and providing expert advice and challenge on organisational change, leadership effectiveness and ways of working.
A core element of the role is leadership of staff experience activity, including responsibility for the NHS Staff Survey, Pulse Surveys and other staff feedback mechanisms. The post holder will ensure robust analysis of workforce insight and lead the development, coordination and assurance of Trust-wide and divisional staff survey action plans, ensuring staff voice directly informs organisational priorities, improvement activity and cultural development.
