Head of IT Applications - Insurance - Hybrid

Head of IT Applications is required by this London Markets business, as they look to continue their transformation drive across its technology landscape and elevate the performance of its business-critical application estate. Working closely with the CIO, you will look to modernise their application estate, leading on strategy and improving planning/delivery, managing a small function of application developers and ensure business continuity and stakeholder engagement.

Ideally you can demonstrate previous work within London Markets, where you've acted as a strategic technology leader, where you've overseen the modernisation of application estates, managed complex supplier ecosystems and guided teams successfully through change.

Your stakeholder engagement must include relevant Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial and Operations departments, ensuring that you can measure outcomes against technology investment. You must also be able to demonstrate extensive vendor/supplier management, ensuring delivery and performance is at the level the business requires.

Your work will be expected to be spread across -

• Taking control of a complex applications portfolio, quickly
• Defining future state, detailing the roadmap required
• Improving vendor/supplier performance
• Ensuring stricter governance
• Modernising the development landscape, improving performance (SDLC maturity, use of AI, etc)
• Strengthening service management
