Summary: The Head of HDRC role is a strategic leadership position focused on driving research initiatives to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities within Surrey. This 2-year fixed-term contract involves overseeing the Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) program, ensuring effective management and delivery of its objectives. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide overall leadership and effective management of the HDRC program.
• Ensure the development and successful delivery of the program's vision, aims, and objectives.
• Oversee the development and delivery of all workstreams in line with strategic objectives.
• Collaborate with the Surrey HDRC Oversight Group and corporate Council leads to develop key policies and strategies.
• Manage research, evaluation, program management, and public involvement.
• Collaborate with the University of Surrey and other partners to shape a research ecosystem.
• Manage the HDRC budget and partnership agreements.
• Accountable for delivering program milestones within the allocated budget.

Key Skills:

• PhD qualification or equivalent relevant research experience.
• Specialist knowledge and experience of research methods.
• Understanding of the determinants of health and health inequalities.
• Ability to appreciate the role of research in health and social care service delivery.
• Experience in developing and managing programs and projects.
• Track record of delivering high-quality programs on time and within budget.
• Ability to formulate and implement strategic plans successfully.
