Summary: The Interim Head of Finance will lead financial planning, reporting, and analysis for a large public sector organization in the North West of England during a transitional period. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead financial planning, reporting, and analysis to support senior decision making
- Maintain and develop the Medium-Term Financial Strategy
- Oversee financial operations and ensure regulatory compliance
- Provide leadership in public sector finance and embed best practice
- Support transformation programmes with financial expertise
- Contribute at senior leadership level to organisation-wide priorities
Key Skills:
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA - CIPFA or CCAB highly desirable)
- Senior-level experience in local government or a comparable public sector organisation
- Proven track record in a Head of Finance role or equivalent
- Skilled communicator able to translate complex financial data into clear insight
- Immediate availability to take on a high-impact interim role
- Strong, hands-on leader with the ability to motivate and develop finance teams
Salary (Rate): £130,000.00 yearly

Interim Head of Finance – North West
Parkinson Lee Executive Search are recruiting an Interim Head of Finance on behalf of a large, complex public sector organisation in the North West of England. This interim appointment will cover a period of permanent recruitment, and the successful candidate must be available to start immediately.
Location: North West – 2 days per week on site
Day Rate / Package: £550-£650 per day Inside of IR35
The Role
- Lead financial planning, reporting and analysis to support senior decision making
