Summary: The Head of Finance role at a leading NHS Organisation involves overseeing financial commissioning operations and ensuring effective resource allocation and financial performance. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the management of provider activity and agreements, including Long Term Agreements, high-cost exclusions, and non-contracted activity.
• Oversee financial commissioning processes and collaborate with Joint Commissioning Committees, Local Health Boards, and other commissioning bodies.
• Provide leadership in negotiating and managing Healthcare Agreements for specialist services.
• Develop and maintain systems to monitor activity and financial performance, identifying trends and potential risks to financial forecasts.
• Develop effective risk management protocols for the Healthcare Agreement to ensure income recovery for increased pressures during the financial year.
• Establish risk management protocols for Healthcare Agreements to support income recovery and ensure agreements are adaptive to service changes and actual performance.
• Research and develop new commissioning frameworks for high-cost services to ensure responsiveness to cost behaviours associated with changes in case mix and patient complexity.

Key Skills:

• ACCA, ACA or CIMA Qualified.
• Extensive NHS finance experience at a senior management level, including specialist knowledge of NHS commissioning processes and systems.
• Strong leadership and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage complex financial agreements.
• Advanced analytical abilities to monitor and interpret activity and financial data effectively.
