Summary: The Interim Head of Finance Operations will lead a finance operations team of approximately 25 individuals in a prominent organization based in Central Bristol. This role involves overseeing transactional finance processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving efficiency improvements. The position is expected to last 4-6 months while a permanent hire is made, with a hybrid working arrangement of 3 days on-site and 2 days remote. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a background in transactional finance management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a finance operations team of around 25 people, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Oversee the transactional ledger and approve month-end tasks, including bank reconciliations and journal sign-offs.
- Develop and maintain a transactional control plan, ensuring integration into business-as-usual operations.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships to drive improvements and represent the finance function in projects.
- Act as the subject matter expert for Finance Operations, handling escalations and conducting root cause analysis.
- Support risk management by enforcing policies in purchasing, expenses, and credit control.
- Ensure financial operations comply with local regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Oversee the effective use of finance systems to support business needs.
