Summary: The Head of Finance at Alliance Health Group will lead the finance team in Birmingham, ensuring the organization meets its financial requirements while managing various reporting divisions. This full-time on-site role involves overseeing financial controls, statutory accounts, and cash flow management, while partnering with operational leaders to drive performance and growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting knowledge and experience in similar organizations, particularly within regulated sectors like healthcare or insurance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the finance team
  • Own monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and board reporting
  • Oversee statutory accounts, audits, tax, VAT, and regulatory reporting
  • Maintain strong financial controls, processes, and risk management
  • Cashflow forecasting, working capital management, and treasury oversight
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and medium-term financial planning
  • Partner with operational and commercial leaders on performance and growth
  • Assist with group structuring, intercompany accounting, and consolidation
  • Support systems improvement, automation, and data quality initiatives

Key Skills:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA fully qualified
  • Proven experience in similar size or larger organisations
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP; IFRS a bonus)
  • Experience managing and developing a finance team
  • Solid understanding of cashflow, controls, and audit processes
  • High level of Excel and financial systems competence
  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, financial services, or other regulated sectors (highly desirable)
  • Exposure to fast-growth, PE-backed, or entrepreneurial businesses (highly desirable)
  • Group consolidation and intercompany accounting experience (highly desirable)
  • Systems implementation or finance transformation exposure (highly desirable)
