Summary: The Head of Finance for SYSTRA UK & Ireland is a senior finance professional responsible for overseeing the finance function within the organization on a 9-month fixed-term contract. This role involves significant interaction with the UK & Ireland Board and the SYSTRA Group, focusing on financial management, reporting, and compliance across multiple business areas. The position is based in Manchester and includes responsibilities for staff in York, requiring some travel. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial management, particularly within the engineering or construction sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of financial management for SYSTRA UK&I, including technical accountancy and monthly management reporting.
  • Leverage ERP system (IFS) for efficiency and simplification of processes.
  • Management of month-end processes and liaison with internal and external audit functions.
  • Support governance requirements in line with Group policies and procedures.
  • Management of foreign exchange and branches reporting.
  • Liaison with Group and external advisors for tax and treasury purposes.
  • Development and management of the SYSTRA Finance team business unit.
  • Drive compliance with Group governance requirements and improve tax & treasury processes.
  • Provision of statutory accounts and regulatory compliance.
  • Monthly reporting to functional leads and forecasting for cost savings.

Key Skills:

  • Extensive financial management experience in large, complex organizations, preferably in engineering or construction.
  • Strong technical accounting skills with experience in project-driven environments.
  • Experience in using and developing ERP systems.
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with senior business partner experience.
  • Significant forecasting, reporting, budgeting, and project accounting experience.
  • Problem-solving skills with a focus on driving change and process improvement.
  • People and relationship management skills in a client-driven organization.
  • French language skills desirable but not essential.
