Summary: The Head of Finance role is a leadership position within a not-for-profit organization, focusing on guiding the finance function through a transformative period. Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and developing a finance team, including business partnering, transactional finance and procurement functions
- Driving improvements in finance processes, systems and ways of working to support a more proactive and commercially aware function
- Overseeing management accounting, ensuring outputs are insightful and support decision-making across the organisation
- Supporting the delivery of statutory accounts and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, including SORP
- Embedding stronger financial planning and analysis capabilities across the business
- Working closely with senior stakeholders to improve financial understanding and engagement
- Supporting the organisation through ongoing change, ensuring continuity and stability
Key Skills:
- Essential: Strong not-for-profit sector experience, including knowledge of SORP
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent); QBE candidates will be considered where they can demonstrate strong, relevant technical knowledge
- Proven experience operating at Head of Finance level, leading teams through change and transformation
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across diverse functions
- Experience improving finance processes, systems and team capability
- A proactive and forward-thinking mindset, with the ability to drive cultural and operational change

A not-for-profit organisation is seeking a Head of Finance to join on a 12-month fixed term contract. This role will play a key part in leading the finance function through a period of transformation, focusing on improving processes, systems, and the overall impact of finance across the organisation. Candidates will need to be available to start in May.
The role will be based on a hybrid basis, with two days per week in the Leicester office.
