Summary: The Head of Events & Supporter Engagement will lead the strategic development of donor engagement and events for the Science Museum Group, enhancing supporter experiences to drive engagement and income growth. Key Responsibilities:

Could you help create exceptional supporter experiences that drive engagement and income growth for one of the world’s leading museum groups? The Science Museum Group encompasses the Science Museum, the National Railway Museum, the Science and Industry Museum, the National Science & Media Museum, Locomotion and the Science and Innovation Park; making us the world’s greatest alliance of science museums. Our Fundraising & Partnerships team plays a vital role in delivering our mission, helping to build purposeful and meaningful relationships that enable us to inspire audiences through science, technology, engineering and innovation. As part of this work, we’re now looking for a Head of Events & Supporter Engagement to join us on a fixed-term basis until July 2028, leading the strategic development of donor engagement, stewardship and events activity that supports fundraising success across the Science Museum Group.

About the Role As Head of Events & Supporter Engagement, you’ll lead the development and delivery of an ambitious supporter engagement strategy, that creates meaningful experiences that strengthens donor relationships, increases retention and drive long-term income growth. Leading the Events and Supporter Engagement teams, you’ll oversee cultivation, stewardship, donor communications and supporter events across all Science Museum Group sites, ensuring supporters and prospects feel connected to the impact of our work and inspired to deepen their engagement with the organisation. You’ll oversee the planning and delivery of a high-profile, cross-site events programme, working collaboratively with fundraising colleagues and internal stakeholders to create engaging opportunities that deepen supporter relationships and drive income generation. Working as part of the Fundraising & Partnerships Senior Leadership Team, you’ll help embed supporter engagement principles across the department and contribute to the wider strategic leadership of the department. You’ll partner closely with fundraising teams to ensure they have the tools, communications and engagement opportunities needed to build successful supporter relationships and achieve ambitious income targets. A key part of the role will involve building strong collaborative relationships across the Science Museum Group, helping unlock opportunities that bring supporters closer to our collections, exhibitions, programmes and people. Hybrid working is available in this role in line with the current hybrid working policy at SMG, with a minimum of 40% of working hours based onsite at the Science Museum in London.
