Head of Data Engineering - Microsoft Fabric

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the enterprise Microsoft Fabric data engineering strategy and roadmap
  • Drive implementation across OneLake, Lakehouses, Warehouses, Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2 and Spark
  • Establish modern medallion architecture - Bronze, Silver & Gold
  • Lead data engineering teams across development, testing, release and operations
  • Implement CI/CD, Git/source control and DevOps practices
  • Drive data governance, security, lineage and access controls
  • Optimise Fabric workloads, performance and capacity/cost management
  • Integrate data from multiple enterprise platforms and SaaS applications
  • Establish sustainable BAU operating models, engineering cadence and ways of working
  • Support knowledge transfer and ensure a smooth transition into the established operating model.

What We're Looking For

  • Senior-level Data Engineering/Data Platform leadership experience
  • Strong Microsoft Fabric implementation experience
  • Excellent Azure/cloud data engineering background
  • Experience leading engineering teams and technical delivery
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, modelling and modern lakehouse patterns
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD and production platform operations
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience establishing or transitioning data platforms into BAU
