Role Overview

Data & Analytics Office (DAO) is responsible for strengthening data governance, promoting a data-led culture and unlocking business value from well-managed data.

The Head of DAO Governance will lead governance, reporting, committee management and strategic change activities for the Group Chief Data & Analytics Officer (GCDAO).

The role requires close collaboration with senior stakeholders across global and regional teams, including Technology, Data, Risk and Regulatory functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Board & Regulatory Governance
  • Lead oversight of Board and regulatory requirements for the GCDAO.
  • Coordinate FCA and PRA regulatory requests, submissions and questionnaires.
  • Prepare Board/LT papers, presentations and executive-level reporting.
  • Engage senior stakeholders and SMEs to obtain accurate content, approvals and sign-off.
  • Ensure governance materials clearly articulate risks, issues, dependencies and impacts.
  • Data & Analytics Governance
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of DAO governance frameworks and processes.
  • Ensure alignment with Group and CTO policies and standards.
  • Develop and maintain governance models, reporting and management information.
  • Translate complex data, technology and governance topics into clear executive-level messaging.
  • Committee & Leadership Governance
  • Manage global DAO governance meetings and committees.
  • Act as secretariat where required, including agenda planning, papers, minutes, actions and communications.
  • Coordinate leadership materials and ensure consistent messaging across DAO and CTO COO.
  • Project & Change Delivery
  • Lead strategic initiatives from planning through implementation and transition to BAU.
  • Manage projects using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Support PMO reporting, process design and change management.
  • Manage multiple concurrent priorities, short deadlines and changing requirements.

Required Skills

  • Strong experience in Data & Analytics Governance, Technology Governance, PMO or COO functions.
  • Proven experience producing Board / Executive Leadership-ready papers and presentations.
  • Excellent PowerPoint, storytelling, visual communication and executive reporting skills.
  • Strong governance, risk, issue and regulatory reporting experience.
  • Experience working with senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong project and change delivery experience across complex organisations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and high-volume demands.
  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall delivery frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to operate effectively in ambiguity.
  • Experience within banking, financial services or another highly regulated environment would be highly beneficial.
