Summary: The Interim Head of Data & Analytics at Orbit will lead the organization's data strategy and initiatives during a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover. This role is crucial for enhancing data quality, governance, and analytics, while fostering a data-driven culture across the organization. The position involves overseeing the central data function, engaging with stakeholders, and managing third-party data services. The successful candidate will shape the direction of the data team to align with Orbit's Integrated Data and Technology Strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Data function to align with the Integrated Data and Technology Strategy and annual Strategic Portfolio.
- Oversee the development of the central data platform and enable self-service analytics capabilities.
- Implement a Data Governance framework and establish roles for data quality improvements.
- Develop data analysis and insight approaches, paving the way for predictive analytics.
- Engage with stakeholders to promote data initiatives and support leaders in fostering a data-driven culture.
- Assess and develop the skillsets of Data team members and create development pathways.
- Manage contracts and governance of third-party data services and budget for the Data function.
- Provide regular management information reporting for senior management and committees.
- Maintain strategic partner engagement with Microsoft for data and analytics technologies.
Key Skills:
- Experience leading central data functions including Data Architecture, Analytics, Engineering, Governance, Quality, and Enablement.
- Proficiency with data transformation technologies such as Azure Synapse Analytics and Power BI.
- Experience in developing Data Enablement programs and embedding a data-driven culture.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to create strategic delivery plans and influence across the organization.
- Comprehensive knowledge of information governance and data architecture principles.
- Excellent presentation skills for conveying complex data processes to diverse audiences.
- Desirable: Experience in Social Housing and Property Asset Data.
