Summary: My Local Authority client in Greater London is seeking a Head of Communications & Channel Shift on a contract basis. The role involves leading strategic communications objectives for the Council and providing senior-level support to the internal communications team. Local Authority experience is essential for this position. The successful candidate will also assist in managing reputation during public consultations and shift communication strategies towards proactive delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Focused (day-to-day) senior level support for the internal communications team to deliver next phase of change
  • Project management and team co-ordination support for reputation management connected to public consultations over significant service changes
  • Deputise for and assist the CD of Communications and Campaigns to develop and embed new planning processes and an account management-based approach to cross-council support and strategic alignment
  • Shifting focus of our main comms channels from reactive content publication to proactive delivery anchored in long-term themes and objectives

Key Skills:

  • Significant experience of leading complex communications services/projects within a Local Authority
  • Reputational risk management skills
  • Politically astute, with strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • Local Authority experience is essential

Salary (Rate): £610 per day

My Local Authority client in Greater London is looking to appoint a talented Head of Communications & Channel Shift on a Contract basis.

Lead on strategic communications objectives for the Council, whilst deputising for the Corporate Director.

Local Authority experience is essential.
