Summary: The Head of Civils Works PMO will lead the civil engineering delivery for the Sizewell C Project, a significant nuclear energy initiative in the UK. This role involves overseeing project management operations, ensuring effective collaboration across various stakeholders, and implementing best practices in project controls. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a major infrastructure program aimed at providing clean energy and supporting the UK's Net Zero goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the PMO implementation for all civil engineering works, overseeing delivery across schedule, cost, risk, reporting, data, and change.
  • Manage and inspire a high-performing PMO team within a matrix structure.
  • Shape and embed best-in-class programme controls, digital systems, and data strategies across the civils programme.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across central PMO, supply chain, and government stakeholders.
  • Represent the project externally, showcasing the SZC story to regulators, shareholders, and the wider industry.

Key Skills:

  • Significant leadership experience in major infrastructure projects (ideally >£1bn+), preferably in nuclear, energy, rail, aviation, or defence.
  • Proven expertise in Project Controls across cost, schedule, change, risk, and reporting.
  • Track record of leading PMO or project controls functions on complex programmes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills at executive and government levels.
  • Degree in engineering, construction, finance, or project management (or equivalent experience).
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management and industry-standard software/tools (e.g., Power BI, Primavera P6).
  • Nuclear sector experience or major civils delivery is desirable.
  • Professional certification (e.g., APM, PMI, AACE) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of NEC and FIDIC contracts.

Salary (Rate): £1560
