Summary: The Head of Global Process & Standards Excellence at Astellas is responsible for ensuring operational excellence within Medical Affairs by developing and overseeing business change initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure operational excellence by developing, executing, and overseeing business change initiatives.
  • Establish cross-functional standards in alignment with regulations and industry standards.
  • Manage risk and promote process efficiency through oversight of processes owned by Medical Affairs senior leaders.
  • Collaborate with leaders in various departments to implement change initiatives and maintain Medical Affairs standards.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of global Medical Affairs standards and effectively communicate processes across the organization.
  • Lead and manage a team, influencing alignment in cross-functional and matrix teams.
  • Partner with Medical Affairs Leadership to define and execute strategic direction for procedures and risk management.

Key Skills:

  • Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in Medical Affairs or drug development.
  • Qualified in Change Management or significant experience in implementing organization-wide process changes.
  • Solid project management experience in a multicultural global setting.
  • Ability to communicate a vision and align tactics for successful execution.
  • Experience in translating solutions into actionable plans for global implementation.
  • Advanced degree such as MBA, PhD, or MD preferred.
  • Certification in Six Sigma, Kaizen, or comparable process improvement methodology.
  • Certification in change management (e.g., Prosci) preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.
