HCM Solution Architect/Program Manager - SAP

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned HCM Solution Architect/Program Manager to lead the Human Capital Management (HCM) workstream within a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation programme.

The role will combine HCM solution architecture, integration strategy and programme delivery, with responsibility for defining the target HCM architecture, managing cross-functional dependencies and providing leadership throughout the transformation life cycle.

The successful candidate will have deep expertise across SAP HCM, strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA transformation programmes and the ability to work across complex integrations involving both SAP and non-SAP platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the HCM workstream within a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation programme.
• Define the target HCM solution architecture, ensuring alignment with the overall SAP transformation strategy.
• Own HCM architecture, solution design and integration strategy across the programme.
• Manage dependencies and integration points between HCM and other business areas, including Finance, Procurement, SAP Ariba, SAP Analytics Cloud and Concur.
• Define and oversee integrations between SAP HCM and non-SAP systems and third-party applications.
• Provide architectural leadership across HCM processes, data, applications and technology.
• Work closely with functional leads, technical architects and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable HCM solutions.
• Lead programme-level design governance, solution reviews and architecture decision-making for the HCM workstream.
• Manage HCM workstream planning, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues and delivery activities.
• Coordinate across business and technology QA teams to ensure HCM deliverables remain aligned with the wider S/4HANA programme.
• Provide leadership throughout design, build, testing, deployment, cutover and go-live.
• Ensure HCM solutions meet required security, compliance, performance, integration and data requirements.
• Support the definition of data migration, testing and cutover strategies for HCM.
• Identify and manage technical and functional risks, escalating issues where required.
• Work with programme leadership to ensure effective stakeholder communication, governance and reporting.
• Provide post-go-live leadership and support during stabilisation and transition to BAU.

Key Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience as an SAP HCM Solution Architect, HCM Architect or HCM Programme/Workstream Lead
• Strong understanding of SAP HCM architecture and end-to-end HR processes.
• Proven experience working within large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation programmes.
• Strong experience defining HCM integration architecture across SAP and non-SAP environments.
• Good understanding of integration dependencies with Finance, Procurement, Ariba, SAP Analytics Cloud and Concur.
• Experience managing complex cross-functional dependencies and programme-level architecture.
• Strong understanding of HCM data, migration, testing and cutover within major SAP transformations.
• Proven programme or workstream management experience, including planning, governance, risk management and stakeholder management.
• Ability to operate effectively across business, functional, technical and programme teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Experience working in complex, multi-system enterprise environments with significant SAP and third-party integration.
