Summary: The role of Qualified Social Worker in Assessment & Safeguarding at Haringey Adult Services involves providing expert case management and safeguarding support to adults with complex needs. The position requires a highly motivated individual to assess safeguarding referrals, conduct complex assessments, and lead safeguarding inquiries while ensuring compliance with relevant legal frameworks. This locum, full-time role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment dedicated to enhancing the lives of vulnerable adults.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide case management, guidance, and expert advice to social care staff, students, and partner agencies.
  • Assess and prioritise safeguarding referrals, formulating appropriate responses and actions.
  • Conduct emergency and complex assessments to evaluate needs, risks, and options for adults with high-risk care needs or circumstances.
  • Offer advice, information, and guidance to service users and carers, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and legal frameworks.
  • Lead Safeguarding Enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act 2014.
  • Complete Care Act 2014 assessments and support planning as a safeguarding protective measure.
  • Chair safeguarding meetings, planning meetings, case conferences, and strategy meetings as required.
  • Assist the Assistant Team Manager and Team Manager in setting and implementing performance management frameworks, practice standards, and ambitious service performance targets.
  • Demonstrate the values of Haringey Council in all aspects of your work.

Key Skills:

  • Social Work England (SWE) registration.
  • Significant experience in adult safeguarding and assessment within a statutory environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and safeguarding policies.
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent risk assessment, case management, and communication skills.
