Summary: The Hardware System Test Engineer role focuses on developing high-performance computer system hardware test solutions within the Product Test and Diagnosis team. This position requires collaboration with hardware design teams and contract manufacturing partners to ensure quality and reliability throughout the product lifecycle. The engineer will design test software, conduct analysis, and support manufacturing processes from introduction to high-volume production. The role emphasizes problem-solving in complex electronic systems and effective communication across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop test software to support hardware testing throughout the product lifecycle.
- Conduct test coverage analysis and planning in line with overall test strategy and quality objectives.
- Collaborate with Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners to deploy test solutions into production.
- Provide technical support to CM partners and create standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support failure analysis for reliability issues and field returns to improve test coverage.
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams to develop and implement solutions.
- Support manufacturing test solutions from New Product Introduction (NPI) through to high-volume production.
- Collect and analyse test results and other supporting data to make data-driven decisions.
- Work to root cause technical issues that span across both hardware and software.
Key Skills:
- Experience in manufacturing test of advanced electronic systems.
- Good understanding of the fundamentals of electronics.
- Experience with Python, C/C++, Bash, and Git.
- Experience using the Linux command line.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams such as software, silicon design, and hardware design.
- Ability to solve problems in complex electronic systems.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Desirable: Experience developing tests for high-speed interconnects (PCIe Gen5/6, Ethernet).
- Experience of microcontroller development/debug environments.
- Experience in both NPI and volume manufacturing test solutions.
- Several years of experience in a relevant environment.
- Basic data analysis skills.
- Experience with Assembly programming.
