Summary: The Hardware Electronics Test Engineer role involves working with a leading telecommunications company on a 6-month contract basis. The position requires a hybrid working arrangement from the Brentwood office, focusing on hardware testing and collaboration with design and development teams. The engineer will be responsible for creating test plans, optimizing testing tools, and producing test reports. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the team's hardware testing and produce test reports including some at external test houses
- Optimise scripts and test tools to improve overall efficiency
- Provide support to Design and Development teams on product testing and evaluation, recommending further investigations when required
- Create and own development of test plans for new technologies or products
Key Skills:
- An engineering mindset with eagerness to learn new skills
- Experience with electronics test equipment (Oscilloscopes, Digital multimeters, and spectrum analysers)
- A background in electronics
- An understanding of compliance standards (EMC, Radio, Safety)
- The ability to use test and validation methodologies with scripts to test hardware and/or systems and platforms
- Ability to sort and present test data to showcase outcomes of tests
- Ability to work with developers to design test cases for new products/technology (not essential)
- Experience summarising technical information with varying levels of detail (not essential)
- Experience managing a test workstack (not essential)
- Experience coding and scripting in Python (not essential)
