Summary: The role of Guidewire Developer involves designing, developing, and implementing solutions within the Guidewire platform for a leading Insurtech client. The successful candidate will work closely with both business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable systems that meet business objectives. This position requires strong hands-on experience with Guidewire applications and a solid understanding of software development practices. The role offers a long-term contract with flexible hybrid working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement solutions within the Guidewire platform (Guidewire PolicyCenter / Guidewire ClaimCenter / Guidewire BillingCenter)
- Configure and customise Guidewire applications using Gosu, PCF, and Data Model extensions
- Develop and maintain integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, messaging, and event-driven architecture)
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, and QA teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Support system upgrades, cloud migrations, and performance optimisation initiatives
- Troubleshoot defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes
- Contribute to best practices, coding standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and deliver within sprint timelines
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Guidewire (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and/or BillingCenter)
- Solid development experience using Gosu
- Experience with Guidewire configuration (PCF, workflows, rules, data model)
- Proven integration experience (REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, messaging systems)
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Experience with relational databases (SQL)
- Desirable Skills: Experience with Guidewire Cloud Platform, exposure to insurance domains (P&C, Commercial, Specialty lines), knowledge of Java and modern integration frameworks, experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, Guidewire certifications (Associate / Specialist / Professional)
