Summary: The Associate Director, Tax Accounting & Reporting role involves managing tax accounting operations and ensuring compliance with tax regulations across various jurisdictions. This position requires collaboration with internal teams and offers the opportunity to provide specialist tax expertise while leading a high-performing team. The role also includes responsibilities in budgeting, forecasting, and continuous improvement of tax processes. It is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Uxbridge with a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Tax Provisioning & Reporting: Oversee the company’s end-to-end tax provisioning and reporting process, ensuring proper documentation to support the company’s positions, including external tax disclosures.
- Ensure Compliance: Implement and execute internal controls in the tax accounting area, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Budget & Forecasting: Manage the budgeting and forecasting of taxes, including cash tax, for the business.
- Collaborate & Assess: Work with business unit tax leads to assess, measure, and document the impact of identified tax risks and opportunities under IAS 12.
- Provide Expertise: Offer technical expertise in tax accounting and provide training as needed.
- Drive Improvements: Lead continuous improvements and manage the integration of acquired businesses into the company’s tax accounting processes.
- Leadership Engagement: Act as a key member of the tax leadership team, contributing to significant company projects such as mergers & acquisitions, financing, restructures, and other tax initiatives.
- Develop & Lead: Lead, mentor, and develop your direct reports, fostering a collaborative working environment.
- Build Partnerships: Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
- Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with existing and proposed tax laws and regulations across international jurisdictions and share this knowledge with the team.
- Implement Technology: Contribute to the implementation of tax technology tools and processes to improve operational efficiency.
Key Skills:
- Qualified Accountant and/or Chartered Tax Advisor.
- Strong tax accounting knowledge, with particular emphasis on IAS 12 (and other applicable IFRS).
- Familiarity with corporate tax systems in multiple regions and a working knowledge of international tax concepts.
- Proven experience in managing tax accounting and reporting for multinational companies.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, self-motivated, with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communicator, with the ability to foster strong relationships both internally and externally, ensuring clear and timely communication.
