Summary: The Group Reporting Accountant role is a senior-level contract position within a leading insurance group in the West Midlands, focusing on enhancing the group finance function during interim reporting and corporate restructuring. The successful candidate will oversee the consolidation of financial results across multiple entities and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This position requires extensive experience in group reporting and a strong understanding of IFRS 17. The role is hybrid, requiring three days on-site work each week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the month-end and quarter-end consolidation process for multiple domestic and international subsidiaries.
  • Take ownership of the production of the Group Annual Report and Accounts, ensuring compliance with IFRS 17 and UK GAAP.
  • Coordinate the delivery of the Group Solvency II Pillar 3 returns (QRTs) and the Regular Supervisory Report (RSR).
  • Advise the wider business on the accounting treatment of complex transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, and intercompany eliminations.
  • Partner with regional Finance Directors to resolve reporting discrepancies and ensure consistency in accounting policy application across the group.
  • Manage the relationship with Big 4 auditors for the group-level audit, ensuring all deliverables are met on schedule.

Key Skills:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) preferred.
  • Extensive experience in Group Reporting within a large, complex insurance environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS 17 is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with consolidation software (e.g., Tagetik, Cognos, or OneStream).

The Role
