Summary: The Group Financial Accountant role is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Warrington, designed to cover maternity leave. The position requires a qualified accountant to manage financial reporting, audit processes, and tax compliance while collaborating closely with the Head of Finance. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file annual financial statements for over 20 entities and two consolidated group financial statements.
• Act as the primary contact for external auditors and manage a detailed audit plan.
• Liaise with external tax advisors for corporation tax computations and capital allowances claims.
• Maintain statutory books and share registers.
• Oversee non-operating entities and manage one operating entity, including monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Take ownership of loans and interest across the group structure.
• Build and maintain relationships with auditors, tax advisors, HMRC, and Companies House.
• Assist with systems and process assessments for compliance with Accounting Standards and legislation.
• Provide ad-hoc support for various queries and projects.

Key Skills:

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience in group consolidations and preparing financial statements.
