Summary: The Group Financial Accountant role is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Warrington, designed to cover maternity leave. The position requires a qualified accountant to manage financial reporting, audit processes, and tax compliance while collaborating closely with the Head of Finance. The role offers a hybrid working model, allowing for flexibility between office and home work. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file annual financial statements for over 20 entities and two consolidated group financial statements.
- Act as the primary contact for external auditors and manage a detailed audit plan.
- Liaise with external tax advisors for corporation tax computations and capital allowances claims.
- Maintain statutory books and share registers.
- Oversee non-operating entities and manage one operating entity, including monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Take ownership of loans and interest across the group structure.
- Build and maintain relationships with auditors, tax advisors, HMRC, and Companies House.
- Assist with systems and process assessments for compliance with Accounting Standards and legislation.
- Provide ad-hoc support for various queries and projects.
Key Skills:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Experience in group consolidations and preparing financial statements.
- Proven experience managing audits.
- Proactive and organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder relationships.
