Summary: The Interim Group Financial Accountant will support the senior leadership team in Northampton during the year-end period, focusing on preparing accurate financial accounts and ensuring audit readiness. This role involves managing accruals and prepayment reconciliations, leading audit processes, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The accountant will also produce financial reports to aid decision-making and coordinate annual audits while providing recommendations for budget forecasts. Strong analytical skills and excellent communication are essential for collaborating with various teams within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate financial accounts and manage accruals and prepayment reconciliations.
  • Ensure the company is audit-ready and lead audit processes.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data, producing financial reports or statements.
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits, providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor queries.
  • Review central balance sheet accounts and ensure reconciliations are completed appropriately.
  • Manage the Group Accounting Manual and guide the adoption of new accounting standards.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in the general ledger.
  • Assist in budget forecasts and financial planning, providing detailed financial analysis.
  • Perform variance analysis and report findings to management.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role.
  • Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with relevant software.
  • Qualifications (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
