Global Payroll Accountant

The Role

As a Global Payroll Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting end-to-end payroll operations across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting while contributing to ongoing transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately across multiple countries and business entities.
  • Ensure payroll payments, deductions, and statutory obligations are completed accurately and on time.
  • Perform reconciliations of payroll-related general ledger accounts and key balance sheet items.
  • Maintain compliance with local legislation, company policy, and audit requirements.
  • Support payroll automation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Manage payroll cash integration activities and ensure financial visibility across payroll operations.
  • Assist with payroll transformation programmes, including UAT testing, audit readiness, and process documentation.
  • Support payroll system implementations, integrations, and ERP transition activities.
  • Partner with finance, HR, and operational teams to resolve payroll issues and improve processes.
  • Prepare and assist with statutory payroll reporting and regulatory submissions.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and client teams.

Requirements

Essential Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Accounting, or equivalent qualification.

3-5 years' payroll experience.

Experience working within a multi-country or global payroll environment.

Strong understanding of payroll compliance, reporting, and reconciliation processes.

Experience working alongside finance teams within complex organisations.

Desirable

Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Sage, or similar platforms.

Exposure to payroll system implementations or transformation projects.

Knowledge of finance automation tools and digital payroll solutions.
