Summary: This role involves supporting network services across the EMEA and APAC regions, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, incident resolution, and adherence to ITIL processes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot network performance and technical issues, resolving them quickly to minimize downtime.
  • Act as the escalation point for network incidents from the first line NOC team.
  • Carry out network updates and configurations following global standards and standard IT procedures.
  • Complete audits of existing configuration to ensure it meets global standards, planning remediations where necessary.
  • Plan and complete patching of network hardware to the latest versions to ensure device security.
  • Contribute to the design of new branch implementations and complete the remote configuration of devices.
  • Implement the design configurations provided by the engineering teams for new solutions.

Key Skills:

  • Good understanding and hands-on experience of network technologies such as Cisco Switches, ASA Firewalls, Aruba Switching, and Wireless.
  • Experience with Ivanti Traffic Managers, Cloudflare SASE, Aerohive Wireless Access Points, Velocloud SD-WAN, and NSX Microsegmentation.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Big-picture thinking and understanding of the relationship between own specialism and wider organisational requirements.
  • Accountability for meeting technical goals and project milestones.
  • Working knowledge of general IT standards and codes of conduct.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.

Background: This role is part of the team who are responsible for network services across the EMEA and APAC regions, hosted within the virtual regional data centres and local physical branches.

Main Purpose of role: The role will be part of a team responsible for ensuring that day to day network operations run smoothly across the regions. This will include monitoring the environment, responding to incidents and problems as they arise, and performing preventative maintenance where necessary. Day to day activities will include responding to requests to perform changes and maintenance to the network in line with global standards. Adherence to ITIL process and procedures alongside global standards is essential. The role will work closely with other regional and global resources.The role will also incorporate project and design work as overflow from the network engineering team.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Incident Resolution: Troubleshoot network performance and technical issues, and resolve quickly to minimize downtime
  • Technical Escalation: Act as the escalation point for network incidents from the first line NOC team
  • Technical Standards: Carry out network updates and configurations following global standards and standard IT procedures
  • Configuration Management: Complete audits of existing configuration to ensure it meets global standards, and planning remediations where necessary
  • Device Security: Plan and complete patching of network hardware to latest versions to ensure device security
  • Equipment Deployment: Contribute to the design of new branch implementations, and complete the remote configuration of devices. Provide remote assistance to the on-site employee during installation and patching
  • Project Deployment: Implement the design configurations provided by the engineering teams for new solutions

Requirements Experience: Has good understanding and hands on experience of network technologies used within the organisation: Cisco Switches & ASA Firewalls Aruba Switching & Wireless Ivanti Traffic Managers Cloudflare SASE Aerohive Wireless Access Points Velocloud SD-WAN NSX Microsegmentation Experience of other technologies used within networking, specifically around Proxy servers, DHCP and DNS
