Summary: This role is for a Geotechnical Engineer with experience in site work, particularly on rail projects. The position involves overseeing geotechnical works for a major infrastructure project with a main contractor. The ideal candidate should have a background in fieldwork and relevant qualifications. The contract is for 6 months with potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing window sampling and ensuring logs are correct.
- Managing sample collection, bagging, labelling, and coordination for lab testing.
- Monitoring wells and taking readings.
- Using GPS to get coordinates and elevation.
Key Skills:
- Previous experience working on geotechnical works on site.
- Previous experience using GPS.
- Familiarity with logging requirements (BGS standards) and sampling processes.
- BEng / BSc in Geotechnical Engineering / Geology or equivalent.
- PTS.
