Summary: The General Ledger Accountant role in Belfast is a 6-month contract position focused on ensuring accurate financial transaction recording and reconciliation within the general ledger. The accountant will collaborate closely with the finance team and report to the US GL Manager, with responsibilities including month-end reporting and variance analysis. This hybrid role allows for some remote work flexibility. Candidates should possess relevant qualifications and experience in accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger.
  • Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations and monthly/quarterly variance analyses, documenting meaningful explanations for fluctuations.
  • Ensure that general ledger and sub-ledger accounts are reconciled, and reconciling items are resolved on a timely basis, taking full ownership for assigned GL areas.
  • Assist in meeting tight month-end reporting deadlines, including taking ownership of assigned reporting packages.
  • Additional duties as required by manager and GL teams.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Accountancy related field preferred.
  • Fully qualified through a recognised financial institution (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CAI, CIMA).
  • 2+ years post qualified experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with NetSuite and Oracle is preferred, but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary (Rate): 32.75
