Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise multiple small civil engineering schemes, including flood alleviation and defense projects.
- Organize and manage subcontractors, materials, and plant operations.
- Conduct site briefings and toolbox talks (TBTs).
- Communicate effectively with the public and clients.
- Review and accept subcontractor RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statements).
- Read and interpret construction drawings.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Skills:
- CSCS Gold card minimum.
- SMSTS certification.
- 3-day first aid training.
- Temporary works supervisor qualification.
- Street works supervisor certification (desirable).
- SEAT’s Confined Space training (desirable).
- EUSR Cat Scanning certification (desirable).

We currently have a new requirement for a Freelance Site Foreman on the Avon Weirs and Sluices from 21.07.25. Experience in flood alleviation, flood defence, TW dams and over pumping , Ground investigation and surveys.
This role is for a variety of schemes predominantly in the Worcestershire and Tewksbury but could expand into Gloucestershire later in the programme.
The candidate needs to be able to supervise a number of small schemes being able to organise and manage subcontractors, materials and plant, sometimes at short notice. The schemes vary in complexity from surveys, repairs and some damming off of the river to inspect sluices and Dams.
Necessary for Role
CSCS gold minimum
SMSTS.
3-day first aid.
Temporary works supervisor.

SEAT’s Confined space.

To be able to read construction drawings
To be able to work as part of a site team.
