Summary: The GCP Test Engineer role involves supporting the testing and assurance of secure cloud platforms within a government transformation programme. Key Responsibilities:
- Support testing and assurance of cloud-hosted and cloud-native platforms
- Validate infrastructure, deployments, configurations, and integrations
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices
- Support integration, regression, resilience, and operational readiness testing
- Analyse defects, risks, and system issues in complex environments
- Work closely with DevSecOps, platform engineers, and architects
- Contribute to test standards, tooling, and continuous improvement
- Support API and service-level testing across cloud platforms
Key Skills:
- Experience as a Test Engineer / Cloud Test Engineer / Platform Test Engineer
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps practices
- Experience with integration, infrastructure, and API testing
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing approaches
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes, containers, and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. Terraform)
- Experience working in secure or regulated environments (government preferred)
- Ability to analyse defects and support root cause analysis

Required Experience
Experience as a Test Engineer / Cloud Test Engineer / Platform Test Engineer
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps practices
Experience with integration, infrastructure, and API testing
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing approaches
Strong understanding of Kubernetes, containers, and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. Terraform)
Experience working in secure or regulated environments (government preferred)
Ability to analyse defects and support root cause analysis
Desirable Experience
Exposure to Google Distributed Cloud or air-gapped environments
Experience with automation frameworks or scripting (e.g. Python)
Performance, resilience, or security testing experience
Cloud or testing certifications
Previous government / defence programme experience
Clearance
Must hold active SC or DV clearance.
Must be UK national and DV eligible.
