Summary: The role of GCP Senior Data Modeller/Business Architect/GCP Data Analyst/SME involves working with a leading global IT services supplier to facilitate the migration and reimagining of on-prem applications and data models into Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data products. The position requires expertise in data modeling and analysis, with responsibilities split between creating data models and analyzing existing database jobs. This is a hybrid role based in London or Edinburgh, offering a temporary contract for six months. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in GCP and data modeling techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive and ensure that data modelling aspects of solution design meet the business requirements
- Create conceptual data models and align to Enterprise Data Model
- Create logical data models and schemas
- Create physical data models and schemas that support performance and access requirements
- Define the mappings between physical and logical data models
- Help the designed Data Models take through the governance process
- Register the GCP Data Products in Collibra
- Back trace the Database or Data Warehouse jobs and prepare STTM (Source-To-Target Mapping) sheets
- Identify the source and downstream systems corresponding to system in scope of migration/re-imagination
- Identify the data ingestion and data consumption patterns and define the target state requirements
- Help the Data Modeler in designing Enterprise Data Products
Key Skills:
- Knowledge in ER Studio
- Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (including components such as GCS buckets, BigQuery, Kafka etc)
- Knowledge of enterprise data modelling techniques such as de-normalised views, star schemas etc
- Knowledge of Data de-normalization and normalization techniques
- Knowledge in Advanced SQL, SSIS packages, Python and Shell Scripting
- Should understand the Data Model terminology (Conceptual Data Model, Logical Data Model, Physical Data Model)
- Experience in Agile Methodology
- Client facing and team member skills
