Summary: The GCP Network Engineer role is a contract position requiring expertise in DevOps and hybrid-cloud platforms. The engineer will work collaboratively with a team to enhance domain-owned services and implement Infrastructure as Code principles. The position is based in Leeds, Halifax, or Bristol, with a requirement for two days of on-site work each week. The role is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver hybrid-cloud platforms and services using automated API-driven systems.
- Iteratively improve domain-owned services and develop new features with emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with a team of engineers to deliver domain-owned deliverables and dependencies.
- Continuously learn and apply industry best practices in cloud functions.
- Adapt technology approaches to pursue optimal solutions.
- Utilize DevOps concepts and CI/CD pipelines with cloud-native and third-party tools.
- Manage incidents and problems related to enterprise networking connectivity.
- Review and provide feedback on code changes from team members.
- Ensure compliance with control and security requirements in all engineering tasks.
Key Skills:
- Recent experience with hybrid-cloud platforms and services.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Experience with DevOps concepts and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with tools such as Git, Terraform Cloud, HashiCorp Vault, Harness, and Jenkins.
- Ability to manage incidents and resolve networking connectivity issues.
- Strong collaborative skills and ability to provide code reviews.

Skillset Required:
- Recent experience designing and delivering hybrid-cloud platforms and services, automated API-driven systems with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and agile delivery models
- Able to follow and iteratively improve domain-owned services as GCP and other cloud-based products mature + develop new features where other emerging technologies present an opportunity
- Ability to work with a team of engineers to deliver domain-owned deliverables and dependencies
- Continuous curiosity to learn and develop themselves with industry best practice methods and tooling in the cloud function
- Technology agnostic and are willing to adapt their approach in pursuit of the best solution
- Significant experience of DevOps concepts and CI/CD pipelines using cloud native and third-party tooling – Git, Terraform Cloud, HashiCorp Vault, Harness, Jenkins
- Manage Incidents and Problems to resolve (and advance) enterprise networking connectivity issues to
- Review and feedback on code changes for your fellow team members.
