Summary: The GCP Data Engineer – SAP Integration role at Gigged.AI involves establishing a cloud-based data infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with a focus on integrating data from SAP systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain a scalable data platform on GCP using services like BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and Dataflow.
- Lead the end-to-end ingestion of data from SAP (e.g., ECC, S/4HANA) into GCP.
- Build and maintain robust data pipelines for both batch and real-time processing.
- Define data models and structures in BigQuery to support analytics and business reporting.
- Mentor and support a recent graduate in developing core data engineering skills.
- Assist in platform automation, cost optimization, and performance tuning.
- Monitor and troubleshoot ETL jobs, pipelines, and data quality issues.
Key Skills:
- 3–5+ years of experience in data engineering, ideally in a cloud environment.
- Proven expertise in Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Functions, Cloud Composer).
- Strong understanding of SAP data structures and experience extracting data from SAP.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling.
- Knowledge of data governance, quality, and privacy best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
