Summary: The role of Domestic Gas Installation Engineer involves working as a self-employed subcontractor for a National Gas Heating contractor in the private sector, focusing on gas installations throughout the North East. This position offers long-term, ongoing work with guaranteed year-round opportunities, and requires the engineer to manage local installations on either a part-time or full-time basis. The contractor provides all necessary materials and offers weekly payment terms. Immediate starts are available for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform domestic gas heating installations including combi swaps, conversions, and system boiler installations.
  • Manage waste and scrap collection and disposal from the site.
  • Coordinate with joiners, builders, and electricians for non-gas works as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, including maintaining Gas Safe registration.
  • Utilize provided materials and equipment for installations.
  • Maintain a clean DBS record and provide necessary insurance documentation.

Key Skills:

  • Gas Safe Registration.
  • Domestic ACS qualifications including CENWAT, CPA1, CCN1, CKR1, HTR1.
  • Experience in domestic gas installations.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-employed subcontractor.
  • Possession of a calibrated flue gas analyser.
  • £2m Public Liability Insurance.
  • Clean DBS check.
  • Access to a van (plain or sign written).
