Summary: The role of a Functional Skills Tutor in Bolton involves providing tailored educational support to vulnerable and disengaged young people. The tutor will create and deliver personalized lessons to enhance students' engagement and academic performance, focusing on bridging gaps in their education. This position is part-time and ongoing, with a commitment to improving the educational journey of at-risk youth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, plan, and deliver 1:1 tailored lessons for KS3 or KS4 pupils.
- Boost engagement and attainment levels of students.
- Provide academic support and guidance in a one-on-one or small-group setting.
- Work within the community or pupils' homes.
- Adapt working hours based on family convenience.
Key Skills:
- QTS or equivalent tutoring experience.
- UK classroom teaching experience preferred but not essential.
- Creativity, patience, and willingness to think outside the box.
- Experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to process a new application.
- Two professional child-related references.

- Possess UK classroom teaching experience preferred but not essential
- Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
- Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils
To be eligible for this role, the potential Tutor must:
- Hold the right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child-related references.
