Summary: The Functional Safety Engineer role involves supporting a confidential engineering project within the automotive sector on a contract basis. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support functional safety activities for automotive systems, including hardware, software, and system integration.
- Develop safety concepts, requirements, and safety plans in line with ISO 26262 and company processes.
- Perform hazard analysis and risk assessment (HARA), FMEA, and FTA to identify and mitigate risks.
- Define and manage safety requirements throughout the V-cycle, ensuring traceability and validation.
- Collaborate with design, electronics, and software engineers to embed safety in design and implementation.
- Contribute to safety case development and documentation to demonstrate compliance.
- Support testing and validation teams to ensure safety goals are verified and validated.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship on functional safety best practice across engineering teams.
